Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unique of pop stars: an artist capable of effectively bridge the gap between pop and country music, conquering the globe. Swift shed her roots in country music as if she was a second skin, and revealed that she had the best pop sensibility of the time. Swift was the only artist/singer who could follow the zeitgeist of popular music when she went on tour. The skills she displayed were apparent on her early hits including the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album, 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering the person she really was, and, in doing so, gaining an audience of mass. Fearless was successful not only in the United States, having six platinum-certified songs. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story & I Belong with Me were the most important reasons. It also performed exceptionally well throughout the world. Swift was able to consolidate her success through Speak Now almost two year following. Swift's popularity grew through the three albums that followed - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in an industry she felt was hers to be. Even though she had slowed her production with folklore, and Evermore released in 2020, she was still leading the way in pop music.
