Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop artists: one who could effortlessly bridge the gap between pop and country music, conquering the globe. Swift shed country like it was an additional layer, showing that she's perhaps the most intelligent pop singer/songwriter of her time. One who can harness the mood of times to make her music personal, and perform in the opposite. This was evident in her early hits including the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering the person she really was, and in the process, finding an audience of mass. The album was a huge success, not just on American soil, with six platinum-certified songs. The Top Ten songs Love Story and I Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. But, it also did well all over the world. Swift's second album Speak Now, released nearly two years following the debut, further consolidated this success. The album propelled Swift into the spotlight. In the three subsequent albums (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012, 1989 2014 along with Reputation 2017 -- her success only grew. That was an obvious indicator that Swift had entered a new pop world which she was able to fit into. In the end, when she refocused her music with the stripped-down releases of 2020, Folklore, and Evermore however, she remained in the top spot. The position was defended with the re-recordings she had made from her earlier catalog, as in Midnights, her synth-heavy chart-topping 2022 album.
