Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She founded The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has worked as a TV host, journalist, philanthropist and author for over ten years. She is also the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. She emigrated to Greece to England at the age of 16 and received an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. In her 21st year, she was president of the renowned debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. Being a conservative syndicated blog when she graduated, she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. Her popularity enabled her to get a variety of famous people to share their opinions about current affairs, culture and politics. Arianna gained fame after she decided to stand as an independent Candidate for the California Recall Election to replace former Governor Davis. In addition, she led the Detroit initiative to encourage vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes placed her at 12 on its top 10 list of Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their list of the top 100 in the year 2010. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media division in 2011 after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included additional AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos, a management and journalism consultant. She was very close with her father. However, it was her relationship with her mother who shaped her. She showed leadership traits even in her early years. When she was 16 she relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only president from outside the country. She graduated in 1972 with a degree in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic, and as a host on television. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
