April Ross

April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball players to capture medals at multiple Olympics. In Tokyo during the next few days, she'll be aiming to net her third medal alongside the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. There is a chance that she has one chance at winning, as she's 39 old. However, she's convinced that top prizes are within reach. Ross stated to NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, or even a good game and they are able to play well, the team can win a gold medal. In addition, I'm planning put my faith in a touch of luck. Ross was born August 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She resided there together with her parents. While at Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many sports. While a prep student she played basketball, indoor volleyball and track. She stood out however during this game. In her time at high school, she played middle blocker, outside hitter and setter at the tennis court as per her college bio. Her efforts were recognized by her being named 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. Also, in 2000 she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. While Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple since 2017, the former had already been a major participant on the beaches long before their pairing. She actually won multiple major tournaments in the past with two different partners. one of which is an icon of volleyball. From 2007 until 2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who was the winner of the world championship with Kessy in 2009, was also significant on the world stage. They were awarded a silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends that won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, took them out to win the gold medal. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They both won bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics of the year 2016. Ross began her collegiate career with the USC Trojans following graduation from high school. It was a long time before Ross made her debut on the beach and became a professional. This was an impressive career for Ross in the university. She was a All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of Year in the year 2000, a young freshman. Also, she was an integral player to help the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. Her personal life was tense after a devastating loss in her sophomore, yet was capable of achieving the All-American distinction. The last two years as a member of the Trojans in the program they won victory by winning the national title in consecutive years. As an individual, she cemented her place in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the top female college volleyball players across the country. Ross took a course in the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross was not able to see Ross reach beach volleyball's highest stage. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001. Ross was still a USC sophomore. Her breast cancer had been diagnosed. However, she continues to keep her mother's memory close and dear. Margie has been an inspiration both in her personal life and at the beach.
