April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States, is among a select group of women who have had medals won in more than one Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman, who is a first time Olympian. Ross will also be hoping for her very first Olympic gold. As she is 39 she could have her last chance. However, she's confident that top honors are firmly at hand. Ross was reported by NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your best, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. "I'm planning to test some luck." Ross was born on the 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area together with her parents. At Newport Harbor High School, she competed in numerous activities. As a pre-schooler she was a participant in indoor volleyball along with basketball as well as running track. Although she was a pro at indoor volleyball however, it was evident that her abilities were higher than the average. As per her biography in high school, she played volleyball as an outside setter (middle blocker) as well as a the setter (outside blocker). Her achievements were rewarded when she was named 1999 Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National players of the year. In addition, she was awarded the 1999 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. While Ross and Klineman have been doing their thing from 2017 onward, the former was already a big-time participant on the beaches even before the pair formed. The fact is, she's been a winner of numerous major tournaments as well as one of her partners was a renowned volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to 2013. Together, Kessy Ross was a force on the international circuit winning a world title in 2009. They went into winning a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team that could take home the gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. In 2016, the duo won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college the years prior to her professional career. It was a successful run for Ross at the college level. She was an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year when she was a teen freshman. The Trojans could also reach the Final Four with her help. In her sophomore year, she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to make it back as an All-American. The last two years in the Trojans in the program, she led them to victories by winning the national title in consecutive years. In her own way she established herself as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This prize was awarded to the top female college volleyball players across the nation. Ross was an international relations major at USC. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross become the highest beach volleyball level. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer when she was a sophomore in USC. She still holds her mother close to her heart. Margie continues to be an inspiration on and off of the shore.
