April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. Ross is among the few women beach volleyball athletes that have done so. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian and is set to join her at Tokyo. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. It may well be that it is her last chance at winning, as she's 39 old. Her confidence is high nevertheless. Ross was mentioned on NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your top, even if you play well we will get the gold. In addition, I'll try the chance to have luck. Ross was born August 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She resided there with her family. In addition to competing in various sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. In addition to indoor volleyball, she played basketball and jogged track in her pre-college days. However, she was a standout in this sport. In her own biography, during high school she was a volleyball player as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and setting (outside blocker). Her achievements were rewarded by her being named 1999 Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Player of the Year. The year 2000 was the time she won an Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman might be working on a project in the year 2017, however Ross was already an established athlete at the beach prior to when they came together. In fact, she's had the chance to win numerous tournaments, including one with the legendary player of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 to 2013. She also coached Klineman and herself. Together with Kessy Ross was a force on the international circuit winning the world championship in 2009. They went through to take home a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor clinched gold beating them to it. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross was a student athlete with the Trojans of USC prior to her pro career. She played in high school, as well as before hitting the beaches as a professional. Ross had an impressive run in the NCAA tournament. In 2000 she was named Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman of the Year and an All-American. The Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. Her heart was broken by a personal tragedy during her sophomore year. However, she was able to make it an All-American in her second year. Over her final two years in the program she led the Trojans up to the top of the mountain by winning two successive national titles. The achievements of each individual have established her status as a legend in volleyball. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the top female NCAA player. Ross was a major in International Relations at USC. Margie Ross was not able to witness Ross reach beach volleyball's highest levels. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer while she was a sophomore in USC. Ross is still awed by her late parent. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her both at and off the beaches.
