April Ross

April Ross was one of only a few women beach volleyball players who have won medals at multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian who will be joining her in Tokyo. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. There is a chance that it is her last chance at winning, as she's 39 old. Still confident but she is not sure. If we perform at our very best or even if we play well I feel like we can get that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. Then I will also take the opportunity to try my chance. Ross was born on August 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She resided there together with her parents. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball along with basketball as well as track and running. However she was clearly superior to the rest when it came to the second sport. Through her high school years, she played middle blocker, outside setter and hitter at the tennis court, according to her college bio. She was named the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. Additionally, in 2000, she was recognized as the Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman formed the partnership in 2017, However, Ross was a beach scene player for years prior to. She's won big events twice, with various partners. A couple of those has become an icon of the world of volleyball. From 2007-2013 she played together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Together together with Kessy Ross was awarded a World Title in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. This duo went through to take home a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team and Kerri Jennings won the gold. Ross Jennings was the replacement for May-Treanor as she retired. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross competed for USC Trojans throughout her college years before becoming a professional. The time she spent at USC was one to remember. As a freshman in 2000 she earned Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year honors and was also an All-American. The Trojans were also able to reach the Final Four with her help. She was devastated by a tragic incident in her sophomore years, yet she went on to be an All-American once more. Through her last two years in the program she led the Trojans up to the summit by winning two three consecutive championships at the national level. Her individual achievements have cemented her as a volleyball legend. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross, an USC international relations major, was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the chance to watch her daughter grow into a beach volleyball superstar. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She still holds her mother close to her heart. Margie, on the beach and in daily life, continues to inspire her.
