Paula Patton is an actress and producer who is best known for her leading roles in the action spy movie Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and the drama film Precious. When she was a child she was raised in the Los Angeles middle-class household. Her mother was a movie lover and urged her to enjoy movies as a young person. Paula participated in co-curricular activities at school and enjoyed drama. She loved to play act with her classmates and took part in her school's stage productions. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School provided her with numerous opportunities to act in high school and she chose acting as a career. She attended an acting program at the University of Southern California for the Summer Program, and she loved the experience. She was given a three month task to produce documentaries for PBS. When she was able to complete the assignment well, she was able to begin working as an assistant for television documentary production. Next, she was going to begin producing documentaries. Her work was rewarding but was determined to become an actor. Her acting debut came with a small role in Will Smith's romantic comedy Hitch. Since then, she has played in numerous popular films as well as TV programs.
